On the Other Side of Fear

"Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear." — George Addair

I’ve been sitting with this quote since starting my journey in 2023. Not just as a pretty phrase to pin on a bulletin board, but as a challenge. A whisper. A dare.

Fear shows up in all kinds of disguises. Sometimes it’s loud—like the fear of failure when launching a new product or stepping into a role you’ve never held before. Other times, it’s quiet. Subtle. Like the fear of being misunderstood, or of showing up fully as yourself in a world that prefers polished over real.

But here’s the thing: fear is a threshold. And on the other side? That’s where the good stuff lives.

  • The scent you’ve been dreaming of blending but haven’t dared to bottle.
  • The community event you’ve wanted to host but worried no one would come.
  • The story you’ve been aching to tell but feared it wouldn’t be “enough.”

Fear guards the door to growth. It stands between us and the things we were made to do not because we’re unworthy, but because the journey requires courage. And courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s the decision to walk through it.

This fall, I’m continuing to choose to walk through. To launch with joy. To post with humor. To lead with faith. Not because I’m fearless, but because I believe what’s waiting on the other side is worth it.

And if you’re standing at the edge of something—whether it’s a new idea, a hard conversation, or a dream that feels too big—this checklist is for you. It’s not about perfection. It’s about movement. About trading fear for faith, one step at a time.

And as we walk forward, let’s hold tight to this promise:

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." — 2 Timothy 1:7

If this stirred something in you, I’d love to hear about it. What’s one fear you’re ready to face this season? Let’s cheer each other on—because courage is contagious, and community makes it sweeter.
